Amati Mangenot violin
Made in Bordeaux, 1927.
Description
Amati Mangenot (1901 – 1966) trained in Mirecourt with his father, Paul Alexandre Mangenot, and with Albert and Emile (II) Laurent in Brussels, before settling in Bordeaux in 1925. This violin is a good example of his work. Although the varnish shows wear, unlike some others shown on various websites, this instrument has not been over-varnished and is entirely original, apart from the replacement boxwood pegs.
