Description

Thomä were a well-reputed bowmaking dynasty in Germany.  Arthur was born in 1901 and the son of Adolf who established the family workshop in Hohendorf, which became part of East Germany after World War II.  Consigned to us by a pianist who has given up playing the violin, she bought it from her elderly mentor born in who said she bought this bow in the 1930s.  The bow is in very good condition, and is freshly rehaired with new lapping and thumb leather.
