Bohemian violin, labelled Sante Ballarini
$4,950.00
Labelled Sante Ballarini Rimini 1731
Description
This violin is not Italian but of Bohemian origin, possibly of the Dvořák school from Prague circa 1860, sporting an apocryphal label. Curiously for a violin of this age, it has a neck graft and the pegs have been rebushed, which may indicate that the head is from an earlier instrument. The violin also shows repairs which have been executed well, and it is presently is in a good state of repair. Set up by Simon Collins who did the most recent repairs, with Dominant strings.
