Description
Matthew Coltman initially studied violin making and was a founding class member at the Newark School of Violinmaking, in Nottinghamshire, UK. On graduation from Newark, he was offered a position to train as a bowmaker with W. E. Hill & Sons, later working for Withers before setting up on his own in West London. This bow was made for his friend and fellow student at Newark, Toowoomba violinmaker Ian Clarke. In excellent original condition, it is a fine example of the maker’s work.
