Description

Michael Taylor (b.1949) is the foremost English bowmaker of our time, and founded the bowmaking department at the former Ealing Strings where he worked for over twenty years.  In 1995, following the death of Ealing Strings’ founder Malcolm Sadler, Michael left to work in his own workshop, first in Hedgerley, Buckinghamshire, before relocating to Spain.  In new condition, this bow was commissioned by us.  It is a copy of a Dominique Peccatte viola bow that Michael is familiar with, and from which he took hundreds of measurements:  dimensions, thicknesses, gauges, curve profiles, masses, etc.  One of the London dealers mistakenly thought this to be a genuine Dominique Peccatte, until he took a closer look!
